the finish

Landscaping in Warner Robins

Flower beds, rock, mulch, pine straw and sod, from a bare new-construction backyard to a bordered bed that holds its shape.

The backyard the builder left behind

New construction hands you a house and a yard of packed fill, scattered rock and nothing planted. Dan Newman's backyard was in that state: unfinished, with a family waiting to use it. Left alone, that ground washes out in the first hard rain and grows whatever blows in.

The same thing shows up on older properties. Beds with no border bleed mulch into the lawn, and sod laid over a bad grade sits in puddles. Either way, the line between planted bed and turf is the first thing a visitor notices.

How the crew builds a bed and a finish

Anthony walks the property and quotes it, then the crew works in order: grade the ground, set the borders, bring in the material, plant, and finish the surface. The materials on the work list are rock, mulch, pine straw and sod, and each one has a job. Stone makes a hard, tidy ring, pine straw is the traditional Middle Georgia cover for shaded beds, and sod turns bare dirt into lawn fast.

The yard on the Google listing shows the finish: ligustrum topiary clipped round and set on a ring of stone mulch, sago palms standing in front of a brick house, shrubs held square inside bordered beds. Every plant sits inside a clean edge, which is what makes the whole front read as designed.

Knowing when a bed is due again

Mulch and pine straw thin out as they break down, and the first sign is soil showing through between plants. Stone settles into the ground over the years. Sod that thins at the edges needs attention before weeds fill the gaps. Any of these is worth a call to (478) 334-1049.

Dan Newman's review says there were no surprise add ons when the bill came, and mark stein's yard and flower beds were done two days after his call. Landscaping around Warner Robins and the rest of Houston County is quoted before work starts, so the number you hear is the number you plan on. The lawn side of the property is covered under lawn care.

“He did great work, finished on time, and there were no surprise add ons when he gave us the bill.”, Dan Newman, Google review.
